Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creation and development of CoBE-related marketing campaigns including but not limited to print material, blog posts, website updates, press releases, and related photography and videography.
  • Manages, coordinates, and updates all CoBE social media content including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Monitors for consistency of messaging and branding across all marketing activities and materials.
  • Produces reports on the effectiveness of marketing activities supported by data analysis as requested by Dean/Director.
  • Assists in identifying potential new markets, products, and services by understanding student enrollment and retention trends, competitive services and local and national issues that could potentially impact CoBE.
  • Assists in preparing budget projections, monitoring expenses, and maintaining budget for CoBE’s marketing functions.
  • Develops and maintains a database of CoBE alumni members and utilizes this database for various college-level marketing initiatives including but not limited to fundraising, event participation, and recruitment/retention events.
  • Cultivates relationships with CoBE stakeholders to cover special events, programs, and support student enrollment and retention efforts.
  • Works closely in partnership with the Administrative Services Officer in planning, coordinating, and supervising all CoBE events such as speakers, student events, and visits by guests.
  • Supports the Dean’s/Director’s institution-related correspondence; drafts memos and letters as requested; advises and develops correspondence in accordance with standing instructions as well as institutional policies and procedures.
  • Supports CoBE office operation including but not limited to maintaining the filing system including handling of confidential material, answering phones, routing mail.
  • Serves as an academic advisor for CoBE students (inform students about curricular requirements, academic responsibilities and expectations, academic policies, and procedures, assist students with monitoring their progress to degree and other graduation requirements).
  • Maintains a Dean/Director-approved, set weekly schedule for advising office hours that will be publicly posted prior to the start of each semester.
  • Serves as a resource person for general education and CoBE-specific academic and advisement policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of CoBE degree and certificate programs, academic pathways, transfer practices, etc.
  • Serves as CoBE liaison/representative for Student Affairs and Academic Affairs.
  • Supports the CoBE Dean/Director/Chair by aligning upcoming course schedules with current student needs.
  • Serves as primary point of contact, representative, and coordinator for all CoBE student orientation, advising, retention, and recruitment events on or off campus.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, English or any related field and 0 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for content creation/curation, social media management, public relations, student advising, academic support, and/or event coordination; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
  • Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of public content creation and curation demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with FERPA.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range of problems that may commonly occur in the area of undergraduate advisement.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and develop and maintain a database.
